Raddon VP of Research Bill Handel notes a disturbing trend uncovered in his research regarding the formation of small businesses. 15% of small businesses that existed in 1970 were formed in that year. Today, only 11% of small businesses were formed in the same year. This represents a 33% decline--a major difference that points to how difficult it has become for small businesses to originate today. Bill explains why that is the case.
